Fantastic book by Michael Crichton (writing under a pseudonym, strangely, as 'John Lange') following an old has-been agent from the State Department proving his mettle, John Graves a gentleman looking for a challenge, who finds it in the form of his equal: an Anarchist plotter (John Wright) who is aiming to nerve-gas Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, the enemy dies before Graves can figure out what his plot is or how to stop it.....and that the plot is tailored completely around Grave's own psycho-analytical tests.

In the middle of South Pacific, a thousand feet below the surface of the water, a huge vessel is discovered resting on the ocean floor. It is a spaceship of phenomenal dimensions, apparently undamaged by its fall from the sky. And most startling, it appears to be at least three hundred years old...

The novel begins as a science fiction story, but quickly transforms into a psychological thriller, ultimately exploring the nature of the human imagination.

    The Great Train Robbery

In Victorian London, where lavish wealth and appalling poverty exist side by side, one man navigates both worlds with ease, the rich, handsome and ingenious Edward Pierce. Who would suspect that a gentleman of breeding could mastermind the theft of the century?

Terror fills the skies in Michael Crichton’s Airframe, when TransPacific Flight 525 suddenly “porpoises” while in flight from China to the US. Without warning, the Norton Aircraft N-22 brutally pitches and yaws through thousands of feet, killing several passengers and perhaps the future of Norton Aircraft. But what caused the deadly mishap? Was it counterfeit parts, as claimed by Norton’s finger-pointing president? Did the bizarre accident betray a concealed design flaw? In the ensuing days of chaos, Norton Quality Control VP Casey Singleton struggles to find the answer before an international conspiracy discredits the N-22 and unscrupulous news anchors air a lie that will bury the company. And she must do so while being set-up on the inside to take a fall by the very corporation she so desperately wants to save...
