    Take Me There
    by Susane Colasanti
Rhiannon is completely devastated after the breakup with her boyfriend. She wants him back. Nicole's ex still wants to be with her, but she's obsessed with someone else.

James is hopelessly in love with Rhiannon, who doesn't see that their friendship can be so much more.

Will their desire to take a mean girl down a notch bring these three friends what they want . . . and more?

Set during one life-altering week and told in three realistic perspectives, this engaging, witty novel shows the ups and downs of love, friendship, and karma.

The Take Me There playlist is ready for some serious iPod dancing. You can listen to it here:

    1. "Home To Me" - Josh Kelley
Some people just feel like home.

    2. "Rhiannon" - Fleetwood Mac
    The inspiration for Rhiannon's name.

    3. "Dreaming With a Broken Heart" - John Mayer
After Steve breaks up with Rhiannon out of nowhere, her heart hurts so much that it's painful to be awake. Sleeping is how she dulls the pain. She keeps hoping that things will go back to normal when she wakes up, but of course she keeps waking up to the same nightmare.

    4. "More Than a Feeling" - Boston
This song makes me smile. Hearing it takes me right back to how it all felt when everything was happening for the first time.

    5. "Umbrella" - Rihanna
For the scene where Danny walks Nicole home in the rain under his big umbrella.

    6. "My Immortal" - Evanescence
There's just too much that time cannot erase.

    7. "Look What You've Done" - Jet
When some serious iPod dancing goes down, this is what's playing.

    8. "Dare" - Gorillaz
When this song comes on at the dance, everyone floods the dance floor. It's that good.

    9. "Leave" - R.E.M.
Captures the longing to leave everything and everyone behind.

    10. "By Your Side" - Sade
I first heard this song on my fave ep of Sex and the City, The Good Fight. It was an emotional episode for me. Some scenes were filmed on a Tribeca rooftop in July 2001. The episode aired after September 11, so the producers decided it would be kinder to remove the Twin Towers from the skyline. Every time I watch that episode, I still see them. This song is about a promise to always be there.

    11. "Fly Away" - Lenny Kravitz
Sounds like sweet summer nights and good times with friends.

    12. "Can't Find My Way Home" - Blind Faith
Take Me There was originally called My Way Home, a title that was inspired by this song.

    Waiting for You
    by Susane Colasanti

Derek is clearly the boy Marisa has been waiting for, but there's just one problem. He has a girlfriend. Nash, Marisa's neighbor and childhood friend, is totally geeked out, with zero boyfriend potential. So of course Nash wants to take his friendship with Marisa to the next level.

Beyond her boy drama, Marisa is also dealing with overcoming a major problem from her past, a family that's falling apart, and a best friend who won't stop talking to sketchy guys online. Only the anonymous DJ, who has the school hooked on his underground podcasts, seems to get what Marisa's going through. But she has no idea who he is...or does she?

The Waiting for You playlist is perfect for mellowing out. You can watch the music videos here, followed by descriptions of the scenes and concepts these songs inspired:

    1. "Clarity" - John Mayer
How it feels to wake up on the best day of your life, completely free of anxiety. Then you realize that the euphoria won't last. But it's okay for right now, because the Now is all we have.

    2. "Nothing Left to Lose" - Mat Kearney

A song about letting go and taking a chance on something that feels right.

    3. "These Are Days" - 10,000 Maniacs
This celebration of the Now makes me smile every single time I hear it. It's one of those songs that lights up your whole world and makes everything seem brighter.

    4. "Wave of Mutilation" - Pixies
In addition to a Pump Up the Volume shout-out in the book, I wanted to include a song from the movie. Christian Slater plays the ultimate underground DJ.

    5. "Treasure" - The Cure
This is the song that Nash listens to at lunch after Rachel breaks up with him. "Treasure" is heartbreakingly sad, which makes his own heartache feel a little less painful. I can totally see Marisa playing this on her violin.

    6. "Shiver" - Coldplay
I'll always be waiting for you...

    7. "I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You" - Colin Hay
When you find a soul mate, you just know that they'll always have a special place in your heart.

    8. "Orange Sky" - Alexi Murdoch
Marisa loves capturing orange sunsets on film. She knows that the pinks and reds and oranges of the sky only exist that exact way for a second. But she realizes that living in the Now instead of watching the world through a lens makes the experience even better.

    9. "Passenger Seat" - Death Cab for Cutie
Sounds like sweet freedom on a warm night, your window rolled down, your heart feeling happy.

    10. "Magic's in the Makeup" - No Doubt
Marisa wants to be her true self, but she's still learning how.

    11. "Sad Eyes" - Bruce Springsteen
Nash sees Marisa in a way no one else does. Sad eyes never lie.

    12. "When I'm With You" - Sheriff
A classic song about what it feels like to find your soul mate.

    13. "Wheel" - John Mayer
This song is playing in Marisa's head when she knocks on Sterling's door at the end of summer. It's more about the bittersweet sensation of being in a relationship while knowing that it won't be the last relationship either one of you will have, how we can keep moving into and out of one another's lives in different ways. I'm including it here because it speaks to the permanence of all relationships. Every bond we have fluctuates throughout the years, but every person we share our lives with becomes part of us forever. Everything is connected.

    When It Happens
    by Susane Colasanti

At the start of senior year, Sara wants two things: to get into her first-choice college and to find true love. Tobey also wants two things: to win Battle of the Bands and to make Sara fall in love with him. Dave, the boy Sara was hoping would realize she exists, moves in on Sara first. But Tobey is impossible for Sara to ignore. He gets the little things that matter to her and, most importantly, he feels like something real. Can a slacker rock star wannabe win the heart of a pretty class brain like Sara?

Hilariously and movingly told through Tobey's and Sara's authentic voices, Susane Colasanti's debut novel sizzles in its portrayal of two teens searching for the one.

Here's the When It Happens mix with song descriptions:

    1. "Going Under" - Evanescence
This song is playing when Sara gets to Battle of the Bands. If When It Happens is ever made into a movie, "Going Under" would totally rock the trailer.

    2. "I Just Want to Be Your Everything" - Andy Gibb
Sara is looking for a boy who can be her everything. Tobey wants to be that boy.

    3. "Harder to Breathe" (acoustic) - Maroon 5
There's no way we're gonna give up.

    4. "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" - Journey
This song played on repeat while I wrote the scene where Tobey drives Sara home, she gets out of the car, goes around to his side, and they press their hands together on either side of the window. In a lot of ways, this is their theme song.

    5. "Feels Like the First Time" - Foreigner
The first time you fall in love is the most intense. This song captures that overwhelming feeling perfectly.

    6. "Fascination Street" - The Cure
Like Tobey, I'm a huge Cure fan. "Fascination Street" is ultimate Cure.

    7. "You Are the Everything" - R.E.M.
Sara ultimately learns that no one boy can be everything you're looking for. When it feels like a missing piece of you has finally been found, that's when you know the search is over.

    8. "Keep On Loving You" - REO Speedwagon
When It Happens was influenced by some of my own experiences during senior year of high school. That's why the book has lots of 80s music. This was one of those 80s songs I played so many times the tape wore out.

    9. "D'yer Mak'er" - Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin was on heavy rotation while I wrote several of Tobey's chapters. In an early draft of the manuscript, this song was playing when Tobey gave Sara the blue light bulb for her room.

    10. "Sara" - Fleetwood Mac
Along with my friend Sara, this song inspired her name.

    11. "Orange Crush" - R.E.M.
There's a scene where Tobey tells Sara to stare at the cover of the R.E.M. CD Green. The cover is orange. If you stare at orange for a minute and then quickly look away, you'll see a spot of green. It's one of those quirky things that I felt the need to include.

    12. "Heaven" - Bryan Adams
Mike insists that they should have played this song at Battle of the Bands instead of "Feel Like Making Love" by Bad Company. Although I love "Heaven," the whole Mike thing is sort of a joke. When I was in high school, it seemed like every garage band had "Heaven" on their list of songs they could actually play. They always managed to mess up the first few opening chords, though.

    13. "Night Moves" - Bob Seger
This song is what it's like to be young and free. A song about longing, nostalgia, and sweet memories. Tobey, Josh, and Mike play this during band practice with the garage door open, light spilling out on the driveway on a warm spring night.

    14. "If You Leave Me Now" - Chicago
We've come too far to leave it all behind.

A romantic and empowering book about bullying

Noelle's life is all about survival. Even her best friend doesn't know how much she gets bullied, or the ways her mom neglects her. Noelle's kept so much about her life a secret for so long that when her longtime crush Julian Porter starts paying attention to her, she's terrified. Surely it's safer to stay hidden than to risk the pain of a broken heart. But when the antagonism of her classmates takes a dramatic turn, Noelle realizes it's time to stand up for herself--and for the love that keeps her holding on.

    City Love
    by Susane Colasanti

    Published April 21st 2015

Sadie, Darcy, and Rosanna are living together in New York City the summer before their freshman year of college begins. With no parents, no rules, and an entire city to explore, these three girls are on the verge of the best summer of their lives.

Sadie is a native New Yorker. She is hopeful, romantic, and an eternal optimist who is ready to find her soul mate. Then she meets her dream boy: cute, funny, and quirky in all the right ways. The chemistry between them is unreal. Could he be the one?

Darcy is a free spirit from SoCal with rebellious tendencies and unlimited financial resources. Moving to New York City is just another adventure for her. Darcy wants this summer to be all about boy adventures—nothing serious. But how much fun is too much?

Rosanna leaves Chicago for NYC so she can put her past behind her and reinvent herself. The only thing standing in her way is the grand total of seventy-three cents she has saved. Then she meets a guy who wants to show her the glamorous side of New York—a side that she would never get to experience on her own. If Rosanna doesn't resist, she may find herself in city love.

Told from alternating points of view, City Love captures the moments in each girl's life when everything is thrilling, amazing, and terrifying all at once . . . in a way it will never be again.
